The corn crop

After the fields were completely prepared, the corn would be planted. This is Art Eckberg driving a team of horses pulling a corn planter. By 1920 Olof had one corn planter worth $35.00, and he used it for at least the next decade or more.

In this picture Olof Eckberg, with his sons Lawrence, Orville and Art, are in the field with their horse-drawn cultivators, preparing to care for their corn crop. The cultivator cost Olof about $27.00, and he had four of them by 1921.
