The son of Ruth (Rose) and Melvin Berry, "Dave" was born October 1, 1969. He graduated from Marion (Indiana) High School in 1987 and then went to Purdue University where he earned a BS degree in 1993 and then an MS degree in 1996, both in mechanical engineering. He married Ann Drayton on May 6, 1995 at the Walnut United Methodist Church, in Walnut, Illinois.
Dave is employed by Contour Hardening in Indianapolis, Indiana and is involved in the auto racing industry. He coaches in the Special Olympics and is involved in Greyhound Rescue. His special interests include paintball combat.
