WALNUT GIRL BRIDE LAST WEDNESDAY OF WYANET YOUNG MAN
Miss Hazel Wallace, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Wallace of Walnut,
and Arthur L. Eckberg, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Eckberg of Wyanet,
were married August 18, at 8:30 p.m. The single ring ceremony was read
by Rev. B. H. Truman at the First Baptist parsonage in Warsaw, Ind.
The bride wore a rose beige suit with brown and white accessories. She
was attended by her sister, Miss Fern Wallace of Elgin, who was attired
in a cocoa brown suit with white accessories.
Mr. Eckberg was attended by his brother, Orville Eckberg, of Wyanet.
Mrs. Eckberg is a graduate of Bureau Township High School with the
class of 1932 and since has been at home.
Mr. Eckberg is also a graduate of the Bureau Township school and is
engaged in farming.
Following a short trip through Southern Illinois, Mr. and Mrs. Eckberg
will return to make their home on a farm north of Manlius.

On Saturday afternoon Mrs. Alma Bodelson, of Ohio and Mrs. Olof Eckberg
entertained thirty relatives and friends to a miscellaneous shower in
the Eckberg home, complimentary to Mrs. Hazel Wallace-Eckberg, a recent
brde (sic). Mrs. Beulah Wessell of Manlius and Mrs. Frank Johnson, of
Wyanet had charge of the games, after which dainty refreshments were
served. The bride received many beautiful and useful gifts. Guests were
present from Ohio, Wyanet, Manlius and Princeton.

MISS BODELSON IS SUNDAY BRIDE OF J. ATKINSON (undated, 1951)
Sunday afternoon, June 17, Miss Clara Irene Bodelson, eldest daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur F. Bodelson, of Route 5, Princeton, became the
bride of Mr. John Atkinson Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. John Atkinson, of
Wyanet.
Rev. Randall Rice, pastor of the Bureau Township Community Church,
performed the double ring ceremony in the presence of the immediate
family at the parsonage.
The bride wore a street length dress of white rayon crepe, with
accessories and a corsage of pink roses.
Miss Marie Bodelson, sister of the bride, served as bridesmaid wearing
a street length dress of pink waffle pique, with white accessories and a
corsage of white carnations. Mr. Thomas Atkinson, only brother of the
groom, acted as best man.
The bride's mother wore a green, black and white dress with black
accessories and a corsage of white carnations. The groom's mother wore a
navy blue voille dress with white accessories and a corsage of white
carnations.
Before her marriage the bride attended Walnut High school and for the
past two years has been at home with her parents.
The groom attended Hemsworth Modern school, near Pontepact, Yorkshire,
England. At present he is working for Cecil Transau, route 5, Princeton.
Other guests present were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Thompson, of Walnut, an
uncle and aunt of the groom, and Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Transau.
A reception was held immediately after the wedding at the home of the
bride's parents and in the evening at the home of the groom's parents (an
English custom).
Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Eckberg, grandparents of the bride also attended.

MARIE MAY
Princeton--Mrs. Harry J. (Marie) May, 49, of Route 2, Princeton, died
at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 1988 at home. She had been ill for the
past 20 months.
Born Oct. 25, 1938 in Princeton to Arthur and Alma Eckberg Bodelson,
she married Harry J. May Aug. 12, 1960 in the Bureau Township Community
Church. She graduated in 1956 from Bureau Township School, and worked at
Jostens Inc. as an associate clerk for 18 years.
Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Connie, and two sons, Steven
and Eric, all at home; and three sisters, Clara Atkinson and Ellen Pavy,
both of Princeton and Lucille Warfield of Malta.
Services were held Monday at Norberg Memorial Home with the Rev. Warren
M. Mueller officiating. Burial was in Elm Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials
may be made to Gateway Center.

Harry May, Jr., 72, of 16803 2200E St., Princeton, died at 1 p.m. July
5, 2002, in the home of his daughter at 120 S. Mercer St., Princeton.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Norberg Memorial Home,
Princeton. The Rev. Jon Oblinger will officiate. Burial will be at Elm
Lawn Memorial Park where military rites will be conducted.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
He was born Feb. 27, 1930, in Princeton to Harry J. and Gladys
(Steupfert) May Sr. He married I. Marie Bodelson on Aug. 21, 1960, in
Bureau Township.
He farmed in the Princeton area for 30 years and had worked at LCN for
15 years. A U. S. Army veteran, he served with the 7th Infantry during
the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include one daughter, Connie (Scott) Lindner of Princeton,
two sons, Steve J. May and Eric W. (Robin) May, all of Princeton; and
one brother Donald O. (Becky) May of Princeton.
He was preceded in death by his wife on May 21, 1988, his parents and
one brother.
