WILSON-ECKBERG WEDDING IN SEPTEMBER IS ANNOUNCED
Mrs. Herbert Wilson, Mrs. Charles Wilson and Miss Margaret Wilson
entertained 30 relatives and friends at a miscellaneous shower Friday
afternoon of last week at the Herbert Wilson home near Kasbeer. The
shower honoree was Mrs. Doris Wilson Eckberg whose marriage in September
to LeRoy Eckberg was recently announced.
At the close of an evening of shower entertainment the bride was
presented with numerous gifts for her home. Following their display a
tray luncheon was served, a color scheme of yellow and white being used
in the appointments.
The bride, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Wilson, living near
Kasbeer, graduated from Princeton high school with the class of 1938 and
for the past year has been employed at the Perry Memorial Hospital in
this city.
Mr. Eckberg, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Olof Eckberg of Wyanet, graduated
from Wyanet high school and had been employed by Swanson Brothers,
contractors, in Princeton, until last fall when he enlisted in in the air
corps. He had been in training at Chanute Field at Rantoul until Friday
of last week when he was transferred to Shrevesport (sic), La.

ANNOUNCE MARRIAGE
Mrs. Olof Eckberg and Mrs. Vican (sic) Richmond attended a
miscellaneous shower Friday afternoon, in the Herbert Wilson home near
Kasbeer, honoring Mrs. Doris Wilson Eckberg.
Mr. and Mrs. Lee Roy Eckberg were married in Davenport, Iowa, last
September. Mrs. Eckberg is the daughter Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Wilson. She
graduated from the Princeton High School in the class of '38 and is now
employed at the Princeton hospital.
Mr. Eckberg is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Olof Eckberg of Wyanet. He has
been training at the Chanute Air School at Rantoul, Ill., but was
recently transferred to Shreveport, La.

DORIS ECKBERG
WYANET--Mrs. LeRoy (Doris) Eckberg, 59, 200 N. West St., died Oct. 26
at her home unexpectedly. She was owner and operator of Ceramics by Doris
and was a certified teacher of ceramics.
She was born Nov. 28, 1920, in Ohio Township, Bureau County, to Herbert
Evan and Maude (Wedding) Wilson. She was married to LeRoy Eckberg and he
died in 1977.
Eckberg was a member of the local ceramics association.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Survivors include daughters, Mrs. Harold (Patricia) Jovanovic of
Sandwich and Mrs. Sandra Weatherwax of Dixon; four grandchildren;
sisters, Iva Arndt of Rockford, Orpha Murphy and Margaret Bowers, both of
Princeton, Darlene Kavican of Seattle, Wash., and Elaine Rollines and
Bernice Nyberg, both of Peoria; and brothers, Charles Wilson of Princeton
and Herbert Eugene Wilson of Peru.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Norberg Memorial Home,
Princeton. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Princeton.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials have been established to the Wyanet Rescue Unit, Wyanet
Mothers of World War II and the Heart Fund.

LINDNER-ECKBERG WEDDING ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON
Miss Jennie Ruth Lindner of Tiskilwa, became the bride of Everett
Eckberg of Wyanet, on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 13, at 4 o'clock, in
Clinton, Iowa. The single ring ceremony was read in the parsonage of the
Lutheran church in that city by Rev. A. R. Johansen.
The bride had chosen a street length dress of spruce green, styled in
princess lines with fitted buttoned jacket, with appliqued flowers, and
accessories in black. Her corsage was of pink rosebuds and white
carnations. She was attended by her sister, Miss Esther Lindner, who
wore a street length dress of pastel blue, with black accessories. Her
corsage was of pink and white carnations.
The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Harold Eckberg.
Mrs. Eckberg is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Lindner of
Tiskilwa. She attended Tiskilwa schools and since that time has remained
at home.

POST-NUPTIAL EVENT BY LINDNER-ECKBERG FRIENDS
A reception honoring Mr. and Mrs. Everett Eckberg was held Tuesday
evening, Oct. 15, at the E. W. Lindner home southwest of Tiskilwa.
Relatives and friends numbering 36 were present at the reception party.
Advice to the bridal couple and a clever game covering the courtship of
the young couple was enjoyed by those present. Many gifts were
presented, after which a two-course lunch was served, with pink and white
used in the appointments.
Everett Eckberg and the former Jennie Ruth Lindner were married Oct.
13. They expect to make their home in Princeton.
The bride was complimented at a miscellaneous shower last Wednesday
afternoon at the Leonard Hurst home. A feature of the afternoon was the
making of a book of the bride's life. Before the presentation of gifts a
shower of rice was released on the bride from a bower of autumn leaves
arranged above her chair. Delicious lunch was served by the hostesses
Mrs. Dorthea Reed of Edwards, and Mrs. Helen Hildebrand of Kewanee.
Mrs. Eckberg will be again honored on Saturday afternoon at the Howard
Stoner home, with Miss Esther Lindner, Mrs. Howard Stoner and Mrs. Steven
Stoner as hostesses.

JENNIE ECKBERG
Jennie Ruth Eckberg, 78, of Route 1, Princeton, died late Tuesday
evening, Sept. 8, 1998, at Perry Memorial Hospital, Princeton.
Born Jan. 9, 1920, in Indiana to Emile William and Jennie Alice
(Christophel) Lindner, she married Everett Eckberg on Oct. 13, 1940, in
Clinton, Iowa. He died March 30, 1993.
Survivors include three sons, Richard and Dewey, both of Princeton, and
Dennis of Arlington Heights; one daughter, Jo Ann Eckberg of Princeton;
three sisters, Esther Harrod, Mildred Stoner and Dorothy Jontz, all of
Princeton; nine grandchildren, Richard Jr., Timothy, Randal, Laura,
Melinda, Amy, Christopher and Tyler Eckberg and Angela Lucas; six
great-grandchildren , Lauren, Derrick, Annalise and Dustin Eckberg,
Justin Lucas and Tyler Wood; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one son, James, one brother, Emile,
and one sister, Katherine.
She was a member or the Princeton Bible Church and the Bureau Township
Community Club.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Norberg Memorial Home,
Princeton, with the Rev. Harold Burkey officiating.
Burial will be at Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Princeton.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the memorial home.
Memorials may be made to the Princeton Bible Church.
