CHRISTOPHER ECKBERG
Dennis and Laurie (Flaig) Eckberg of Arlington Heights became the parents of a son, Christopher Jon, born Dec. 27. He weighed 7 lbs. 1 oz. Christopher is the couple's first child.
Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Rolly Flaig and paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Everett Eckberg.

GERTRUDE RAKER TO BE BRIDE IN HOME CEREMONY SUNDAY
Mrs. Elburn Swanland was hostess to thirteen friends at a miscellaneous shower party Thursday afternoon in honor of Miss Gertrude Maxine Raker, bride-elect. Shower games were enjoyed after which gifts were presented from a large basket prettily decorated in pink and white. The same colors were used for tray luncheon served (sic).
Miss Raker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Raker, residing east of Princeton, will become the bride Sunday, March 17, of Harold A. Eckberg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Olof Eckberg of Wyanet. The ceremony will take place at 3 o'clock in the afternoon at the home of the bride's parents.

RAKER--ECKBERG WEDDING TO BE HELD SUNDAY
Miss Gertrude Raker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Raker, of Princeton, will become the bride of Harold A. Eckberg on Sunday, March 17. The ceremony will take place at 3 o'clock in the afternoon at the home of the bride's parents. Mr. Eckberg is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Olof Eckberg of Wyanet.

RAKER AND ECKBERG WEDDING SOLEMNIZED SUNDAY P.M. MARCH 17
Wyanet--Miss Gertrude Raker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Raker, of near Princeton, became the bride of Harold Eckberg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Olof Eckberg of this community, in a service at the home of the bride's parents, three and one-half miles east of Princeton, Sunday. Rev. A. O. Becker read the single ring service before a background of palms and baskets of spring flowers in the presence of friends and relatives.
The couple was attended by Miss Arvilla Pierson as maid of honor and Sgt. Lester Eckberg served his brother as best man.
The bride was attired in a white gown of lace and silk poplin fashioned with a fitted bodice, sweetheart neckline, and long sleeves. Her finger-tip veil was held in place with white flowers and she carried a bridal bouquet of pink roses and sweet peas. Her only jewelry was a double strand of pearls which was a gift of the bridegroom.
Miss Pierson wore a pastel blue frock fashioned similar to the bride's gown and she wore a short veil held in place with matching flowers and her bouquet was of sweet peas.
Mrs. Raker chose a black crepe frock with black accessories for her daughter's wedding and Mrs. Eckberg wore a green crepe afternoon dress with black accessories.
Following the ceremony a reception was held after which the couple left for a short wedding trip. The bride wore a blue suit with black accessories and a corsage of pink roses as her traveling ensemble. The couple will be at home to friends at the home of the bride's parents.
Mrs. Eckberg is a graduate of Wyanet high school in the class of 1943 and for the past several months has been working for the Marinella Beauty Shop in Princeton.
Her husband was also graduated from Wyanet high school in 1940 after which he engaged in farming with his father. In January, 1943, he entered the service in which he served until November 1945, when he received his honorable discharge. He was a member of the 44th Division of the Infantry and was in the European Theater of Operation. He is now employed in Walnut.

HOME WEDDING FOR MISS GERTRUDE RAKER AND HAROLD ECKBERG
Miss Gertrude Raker, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Raker of Princeton, and Harold A. Eckberg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Olof Eckberg of Wyanet, exchanged nuptial vows Sunday, March 17, in a single (sic) ceremony at the home of the bride's parents. Rev. A. O. Becker, pastor of St. Matthew's Lutheran church, officiated, reading the the single ring service at 3 o'clock before an altar of palms and baskets of spring flowers. Thirty-five relatives of the couple witnessed the ceremony.
The bride chose for her wedding a floor length gown of white silk poplin with a fitted lace bodice styled with sweetheart neckline and long fitted sleeves with wrist points. Her fingertip veil edged with lace fell from a cornet of white flowers. Her arm bouquet was of pink roses and white sweet peas, showered with pastel sweet peas, and she also carried a handkerchief of white lace carried by her grandmother, Mrs. S. O. Thulean, at her wedding 61 years ago.
The bride's attendant, Miss Arvilla Pierson of Princeton, wore a floor length gown of light blue crepe and carried a bouquet of pink roses.
Sgt. Lester Eckberg, stationed at Camp Grant, served as his brother's best man.
The bride's mother wore a gown of black crepe with a corsage of white carnations and sweet peas.
The bridegroom's mother was attired in a gown of blue crepe with a corsage of white carnations and sweet peas.
A reception was held following the ceremony. The reception table was adorned with a three-tier wedding cake, lighted tapers and flowers. Presiding were Mrs. Aaron Anderson, Mrs. Jack Levisay, Mrs. Howard Raker, Mrs. John Enyart and Miss Janet Fahlberg.
Mr. and Mrs. Eckberg left for a short wedding trip immediately following the reception. For traveling the bride was attired in a suit of copen blue with black accessories. Her corsage was of pink roses.
Upon their return they will make their home for the present with the bride's parents.
Mrs. Eckberg was graduated from the Wyanet Community High school with the class of 1943 and is employed at the Marinello Beauty Shop in Princeton.
Mr. Eckberg was graduated from Wyanet high school with the class of 1940. He was engaged in farming with his father until entering the service in 1943. He saw 10 months of continuous combat service with the 44th division in Germany, Austria and France and received the Bronze Star, and the Good Conduct medal. He received honorable discharge Nov. 6, 1945, at Camp Chaffee, Ark.

RECENT BRIDES HONORED AT DOUBLE SHOWER (UNDATED, 1946)
Wyanet--On Friday afternoon, April 19th, a double shower was given at the home of Mrs. Olof Eckberg, honoring Mrs. Harold Eckberg of Princeton and Mrs. Lester Eckberg of Rockford. The brides received many lovely and useful gifts. The afternoon was spent in writing recipes, advice to the bride and guessing games. Then fifty guests who were present were from Walnut, Princeton, Thomas, Stewart, Rockford and Wyanet. A delightful lunch was served. Assistant hostesses were Mrs. Kenneth Eckberg, Mrs. Vivan Richmond, Mrs. Arthur Bodelson, Mrs. Justus Blythe.
In the evening friends of the grooms' came for lunch and a social good time.
