Notes
Note for: Hans Michael Konig, 20 DEC 1696 - 11 JUN 1756
Can't be sure that the death date is of the correct Hans Michael Konig.
Notes
Note for: Margaretha Schaeffer, 19 JAN 1649/50 -
According to the christening book, Margaretha was christened at home in an
emergency christening ceremony. It would appear that she must have been
either
very seriously ill or perhaps very premature at birth and was not
expected to
live.
Notes
Note for: Georg Schaeffer, 7 JUN 1617 - 19 JAN 1686/87
Death notice reads "On the 19th of January (1687) George Schaeffer, the
tailor
and 20 year "massner(?)" , aged 70 years, was buried."
On the same page is found "On the 9th of March Anna, the widow of Georg
Schaeffer, the deceased "massner" was buried; aged 63 years." George's
first
wife was Margaretha Konig, so she must have died and he remarried to this
Anna.
Notes
Note for: Barbara Konig, ABT MAR 1616/17 -
Birth record notes that Barbara (or Barbel, the German name), was born on
Palm
Sunday 1617, no date given. It was sometime between 23 March and 27 April
in
that year.
Notes
Note for: Johannes (Hans) Konig, 12 JUL 1584 -
There are MULTIPLE Hans Konigs listed in the record books and keeping
track of
their offspring is close to impossible. We went through and picked out
the ones
that seemed to be the children of our Hans, and they are listed on the
family
record group. However, we can't be absolutely sure that they are all
correct
family members. Death dates are even harder to be sure of as the books
often
gave only the fathers name and not the town the person lived in. We know
that
several Hans Konigs lived in nearby villages and that oftentimes two or
more
generations of Hans Konigs were having kids at the same time (there are
many
references to "the younger' or "the parent" in many of the birth
records), so
to be able to tell which Hans lost a child, when the birth record lists
only
the father's name and not the village or the mother makes the task
impossible.
Notes
Note for: Anna Barbara Hummel, ABT 1693 - 23 MAR 1741/42
Cannot find her birth in the books , nor can I find her parent's marriage
in
the books, though there are other children of a Hans Martin Hummel in the
books
starting in 1693.
Notes
Note for: Diebolt Asamus, -
According to the marriage record of Diebolt Asamus and Maria Eben,
Diebolt came
from what appears to be "Morsberg, in Lottharingen". This probably refers
to
part of the area formerly called "Elsass-Lothringen" which is the same as
the
area of Alsace-Lorraine. This town is now know as Marimont-les
-Benestroff and
is about 30 miles southeast of Metz. We have visited the "town" and found
that
it is little more than a crossroads in a farming area with only about a
dozen
buildings, one old church and no stores.
Notes
Note for: Nina Mae Paullin, 14 JAN 1899 -
Nina Mae died as a child.
Notes
Note for: Hans Eben, - 21 JAN 1600/01
From Hausgereut, very near to Rheinbischofsheim. Occupation is listed as
tailor.
Notes
Note for: Conrad Schaeffer, 17 AUG 1576 -
According to the marriage record, it appears that Conrad was probably
from the
town of Holzgerlingen, not too far from Stuttgart, but it difficult to be
sure
as the writing is very difficult to read.
A later search of the records in the town of Holzgerlingen reveals that
Conrad
almost certainly was born on the date given; there is only one other
Conrad
Schaeffer born in the correct time frame, on 12 Aug 1562 and his parents
are
listed as Jorg and Agatha. However, the Conrad born on 17 Aug 1576 has
as
parents Conrad and Madalena, and he also has children with those names
which is
very strong circumstantial evidence that this is the correct person's
birth
information.
