Hannah Olsdotter Aveldson

Hannah Olsdotter was the daughter of Ohla Larsson Nyman, and was a sister to Jons Olsson, who became Jons Alm, and to Lars Olsson Ekberg, the father of Olof Ekberg. She was born March 31, 1838, in Onnarp, Sweden. In Sweden she married Ole Aveldson and had two children, Anna and Hilda, before emigrating from Sweden and settling in Meeker County, Minnesota in 1871. She and her family bought land near Harvey, Minnesota, where they lived most of their lives. They had four more children while there; Tilda, Emil, August, and Albin. Ole died in about 1893 but Hannah continued to live on the family homestead until about 1912 when she moved to Harvey to live with her oldest daughter, Anna Olson, and her family. Hannah lived to be one of the oldest citizens of Meeker County and celebrated her 93rd birthday there on March 31, 1931. She died about nine months later on December 18, 1938. Her nephew Olof Ekberg made the trip to Minnesota to attend her funeral and to visit other relatives. She left behind six children, 17 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
