Karen Sue Eckberg

Karen Sue Eckberg is the oldest of the four children of Harold and Gert Eckberg. She was born December 18, 1946 in Spring Valley, Illinois. She attended school in Walnut, Illinois, graduating from the Walnut Community Schools. She then studied at and graduated from the Ray Vogue School of Interior Design in Chicago.

Karen married Leland (Lee) Johnson on June 7, 1969. They lived in Rockford, Illinois for about six years before moving to Winnebago, Illinois in 1974. Here they farmed sixty acres, mostly as a hobby, and raised a few farm animals. Lee is a tool and die maker and is the owner and operator of Ka-Lee Tool and Die in Winnebago. Karen has worked for Weight Watchers, International as a receptionist for about 5 years.

Karen and Lee have two sons, Justin and Brennan. Justin Lee Johnson was born July 18, 1974. He graduated from Berean Christian Schools in Rockford, Illinois and then attended Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Michigan, graduating with a BS degree in Civil Engineering. He worked for two years in Rockford for McClure Engineering before transferring to the firm's Milwaukee, Wisconson office in 1999. Justin married Christine Ryan on October 21, 2000. She is a pre-school teacher at Children's World in Cedarburg, Wisconsin.

Brennan Bryan Johnson was born August 20, 1975. He also graduated from the Berean Christian Schools in Rockford. He then went to the Rose Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana, where he graduated with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering. He now lives in Pinckney, Michigan and works for Outbound Technologies in Novi, Michigan. Brennan travels quite a bit in his work and has recently been in Brazil, Mexico and Canada, among other places. He is currently employed as a computer/electrical engineer.
