The first page of Olof's seajourney book records his name, the date he entered the service of the Merchant Marine (October 24, 1898) and that his home station was in Malmo.

The second page records his vital statistics: name, birthplace, church district, date of birth, height (again, in meters), hair color, eye color and distinguishing marks (none). The next page, to the right, is a record of his first journey aboard the "Krona." He sailed to Malaga, in Spain, and Boulonge in France. The trip lasted from October 25, 1898 until August 8, 1899.

The last two pages are the record of his seavoyages aboard the "Hirundo" and the "Lizzie," both of which were steamships. Aboard the "Hirundo", he sailed to America, finishing the trip in June 1901. Shortly thereafter he sailed with the "Lizzie." That trip, which ended on November 16, 1901, was to be his last as a sailor. He received recommendations from the captains of both ships.
