Skivarp is a small but very old town in southern Sweden, near the east, or Baltic, coast (See Maps, for the location of Skivarp). It is the largest of several villages in which many of our Swedish ancestors were born and lived. You can find the names of nearby towns mentioned often in the genealogies of our ancestors.

Olof Ekberg and Ida Almstrom lived near Skivarp, in the small farming village of Almarod, just a few miles to the west. Skivarp has only a few hundred inhabitants today and it is a very quiet town, off the main traffic thoroughfares.
