The church in the town dates from the 1600's, and the interior seems to have changed little since that time, with old frescoes on the walls and ceilings. This church is where Olof and Ida's parents and ancestors were christened and married, and the churchyard is where they were buried.
The picture on the top is the church as it appeared on a postcard sent to the Eckbergs by the Swedish relatives in Skivarp in the early part of the 1900s. The other picture is how it appeared in 1983.
